Summer Plein Air Classes • download information

Paint outside this summer! These painting on location classes will focus on how to choose a subject, address perspective, and how to use shapes, colors and values to create wonderful compositions. I will give individual attention to each participant during the painting process. At the end of class, we will all be able to share our work. If possible, I will do a group critique at the end of each session. Class will be visiting a variety of locations including a rose garden, an alpaca farm, lavender fields and more! Paint Colorful Koi in Watercolor! (download pdf)

Go wild with watercolor! Explore this fluid medium by pouring paint, texturing with saran wrap, salt, spatter, and wax paper. Use all of the above to paint colorful Koi swimming in a pond. Use the supplied pictures or bring your own. Class will include a demo.

Paint Alpacas in Acrylic! (download pdf)

Like animals? Fur? Use the richness of acrylic paint to portray expressive alpacas! We will explore texturing, layering, shape, composition and color in painting these amazing animals. Use the supplied pictures or bring your own. Class will include a demo.
